The initial situation
Hotel Galles is a 4 star accommodation facility located in the center of main shopping streets and business heart of Milan. It had an important business establishment consolidated in the course of different years mainly due to business clients during fair periods. The distribution was also supported by different tour operators and online intermediaries apart from belonging to a historic international hotel franchising chain, with an intermediation cost of over 15%.
The goals
Hotel Galles desired to take the road towards disintermediation through a revision of its entire distribution policy with the objective of increasing the profitability of its rooms.
Furthermore they wished to begin working mainly on their leisure clientele, concentrated during the weekends. However its resellers, despite numerous attempts, were not able to efficiently launch the initiative.
To reach these important goals they decided to entrust Nozio with the task, obtaining the 0% mark.
The collaboration with Nozio
The collaboration with Nozio began in the beginning of 2006 through the approval of a web project developed in 14 languages. It immediately foresaw the use of management instruments such as offers application, online booking and events to actively handle the relationships with the final clients.
The first few months, from the publication date of the new sales channel, saw a constant growth of visitors and direct reservations. This allowed them to increase the profitability of their rooms. For this reason, in a short time, they decided to develop the site in 4 new languages to efficiently safeguard the corresponding markets strengthening their own online propagation. This also thanks to the extension of their presence in all of Nozio?s travel network portals.
In the beginning of 2007 the 0% channel was further developed in other 3 languages and was strengthened with a consistent enlargement intervention of key words distinguished together with new visible tools.
The results
In only 2 years of collaboration with Nozio, Hotel Galles was able to undertake the re-conversion process of its distribution in direct sales.
They have gained confidence in their own means and above all in the revolutionary distribution model signed Nozio that has allowed them to progressively increase the profitability of their rooms.
Conclusions
The affiliation with Nozio has allowed Hotel Galles to better qualify their strong points and to efficiently transmit them in the net towards an ever increasing flow of clientele.
The 0% sales channel has quickly become the most important and lucrative distritubion channel for Hotel Galles: this has allowed the hotel to brilliantly reach their goals and to positively gather new business opportunities. This, in turn, has increased the level of the hotel?s occupancy.
